PROTEC 2.0: Regenerating Hope for Flora and Fauna
From 1 September 2025 until 31 August 2026, the Catholic Church in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei begins the first year of the 5-year campaign “Regenerate Hope”, also known as PROTEC 2.0 – “Protect Our Earth, Protect Our Children”.
This year’s theme is:
Regenerate Hope for Flora and Fauna
The campaign invites us to reflect on our call to care for creation and to act concretely in protecting biodiversity, conserving habitats, and valuing the gift of nature entrusted to us by God. Among the suggested actions are:
a) Collect and save the seeds
b) Regenerate biodiversity and natural habitats
c) Do research on ‘keystone species’ in your region
d) Advocate against biopiracy and the trafficking
e) Support animal welfare and rights
f) Stop eating the meat of threatened or endangered wildlife species & stop buying products made from wildlife
g) Support wildlife conservation and protection
h) Support biodiversity conservation
i) Support the expansion of forestland
j) Document or contribute to the documentation of traditional species
k) Mount or participate in campaigns
Through prayer and action, we are called to regenerate hope and safeguard creation for future generations.
